I bring a well-rounded personable approach to IT, having moved tough several sectors and disciplines within my carrier, from marketing agencies doing graphic design, user interface design and demographics, pensions and banking systems with a high focus security to Data analysis companies working with large data, machine learning, artificial intelligence and reporting.

Whilst managing development teams, we increased company conversion rates by 30% by reducing customer call back to from 2 days to approximately 30 seconds, By combining phone systems, in house CRM, the website and developing statistical analysis that was displayed in real time within the call centre.

Through managing quality assurance teams, including business analysis and testing, I have increased the effectiveness by aligning sprint work with the ever-changing business needs, championing automated testing, API self-testing and refining the release processes.

In managing support teams, we implemented a hot swap service reducing remote workers down time to days instead of weeks. And implementing Office 365 training to increase the effectiveness of the whole company. We increased security and system access by, by interfacing the door fob with CRM access and helping with building fire safety, management time keeping.

I run regular performance reviews with my teams, helping guide them in both professional development and work-based behaviours. I have negotiated contract terms with external providers for recruitment, hardware, software and helped with the outlines for our office move including specification for power, ethernet, security and desk layout.

Experience

2018 - 2020 Covid - Development Manager, PIMSS Data Systems

A strategic part of the senior leadership team, responsible for direction of development, guiding the development team in recreating the inhouse compliance software, moving to an Azure web-based product. Inheriting a team of developers and moving them forwards, in both development skills and positive work-based behaviours, with a mix of SMART objective and motivational targets. Recruiting junior developers and upskilling senior team members to assist in mentoring.

2016 – 2018 – Technologies Manager, Claritas Group.

Part of the senior management team and reporting directly to the CEO and charged with creating an IT department encompassing; development, infrastructure and support to service the needs of the 50+ remote staff, marketing department, call centre, accounts and directors.

2014 – 2016 – Development Team Leader, DNATA Travel (Travel Bag).

Working in conjunction with four development teams, London, Preston, and my teams in Dubai and the Chester office who primarily maintain the flight, hotel and car booking system, interfacing with the Dubai team for automated testing. Managing workload, 1-2-1’s, code reviews, setting up processes and facilitation meeting with the Dubai team.

2013 – 2014 – Senior Programmer, IMT International.

Working in an expanding team to develop client verification software that closely integrated with client management systems. Implementation of agile (Scrum) development, automated build, test and deploy.

2007 – 2013 – Lead Analysis Programmer, A J Bell Group.

Lead C# Development role involving; management of a small team of C# programmers, development and upkeep of the group websites, C# application architecture, project lead and management, requirements capture, web service development, integration with banking systems, Advising marketing on search engine optimisation and usability.

2005 – 2007 – User experience consultant and web technologies contractor

Advising small businesses on promotional materials including Websites, CD-ROM’s and brochures.
